IME lends helping hands to families of COVID victims



Kathmandu : The IME Limited has provided a monetary assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the families of the Nepali migrant workers who succumbed to COVID-19 abroad.

A total of 79 bereaved families are the beneficiaries of the philanthropic move of the organisation established two decades ago.

The organization has established the ‘IME Bharosha Kosh’ under its social responsibility to support the families here of those migrant workers who lost their lives to the infectious disease in the Gulf countries and Malaysia.

IME Group chair Chandra Prasad Dhakal handed the assistance to them amidst a programme here today. As he said, the Fund was meant for supporting, though a bit, to the bereaved families of the migrant workers back home.

The IME had sought applications from those families losing their members abroad due to the coronavirus from 1st January 2020 to 16th October 2020, said chair Dhakal.
