Alliance for peace and development: PM Deuba

CHITWAN: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the Left-Democratic Alliance should win the election for peace and development in the nation.

Addressing a mass assembly organised by the Alliance’s Chitwan chapter here today, he insisted that the Alliance should secure victory in the election for establishing sustainable peace and making the country rich through development.

Stressing on the need of uniting all Nepalis by establishing national integration, the PM said, “Nepal should be made prosperous by setting up industries and hydropower development. My wish is to create jobs within the country so that nobody will have to go on foreign employment.”

He stated that he is effortful to institutionalize permanently the republic achieved through great struggle and to unite all Nepalis from Mechi to Mahakali and the mountainous, hilly and Tarai-Madhes regions through the consolidation of federal system and inclusiveness.

The Prime Minister argued that the present coalition government is for the same purpose and it should be continued in future as well. Expressing his belief that national unity would be established if the Alliance wins the election, he said, “If the Alliance moved ahead as one after the elections, not only inclusiveness and proportional representation but the national unity would also be established.”

Stating that the present constitution does not provide the authority to arbitrarily dissolve the parliament, PM Deuba charged then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of dissolving the parliament not once but twice as if the constitution was his plaything. He added that the parties in the Alliance salvaged the parliament.
He wished that like in the local election, the ruling Alliance’s victory in the House of Representatives and Province Assembly elections also be initiated from Chitwan and the people of Chitwan take credit for that.

PM Deuba opined that Chitwan has great significance, as it is the home district of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s home district and a place with historical importance. He said the Alliance’s candidates should be made victorious in the election in all the three electoral constituencies in the district.

He urged the voters of Chitwan to vote for the Alliance’s candidates with sincerity, as this alliance needs to be kept aloft until the next three elections. -rss
